Formal invitation is the name of a possible container that contains the two solo projects of Davide Frangioni (x4menPerformen) and Aline Nari (Formaline), choreographic actions that arise from the need to explore the imaginary and the individual gestural baggage within a common path focused on the demand around form and in particular on form-only.

In X4MEN-PERFORMEN we want to investigate, through four performative “stations”, some commonplaces linked to the male imagination: a path that accompanies the protagonist from one character to another until the final revelation of a contemporary metemsicosi in action, a transmigration with surreal tones to find liberation from modern behavioral clichés: echoes of a tradition (first of all the types of the Commedia dell’arte) that hint at the contemporary…

At the beginning, FORMALINE, title that contains my name and plays with the reference to the substance that changes the organic into inorganic, is a white sound, a permeable boundary between an inside and an outside; a liquid threshold in which to experience the imbalance between opposing tensions and contradictory desires in which the question about the idea of form is repeated. Clues of a path suspended on memory, on modesty and the desire to tell oneself.
